Stop by the museum Halloween day for lots of prizes and treats as well as fun! A Day at the Boo-seum! is especially designed for younger children. Gather in the auditorium at 9 a.m. to hear the Elizabeth City Police Department explain some safety hints for Trick-or-Treaters. Participate in games, creative activities, and a tasty treat! The theme is pirates and kids will enjoy walking the plank, Hook’s ring toss, searching for pirates, and entering the pirate cave. There is a treasure chest full of treasure so come and claim your pirate booty. Tasty refreshments include cannon balls and tangelo pumpkins. Wash it down with our special ‘sea water’. A photo backdrop will be available for you to photograph your little princess, pirate, ghost, or cartoon character. Circle S Stables will be on our green for pony rides from 3 until 5 p.m. As an added treat a Halloween film will be shown continually in our Gaither Auditorium beginning at 1 p.m; last showing will end at 5 p.m. Activities for younger children will end at this time and will move to downtown Elizabeth City for the tweens and teens.
MOA will be participating in the Elizabeth City Police Department’s Trunk or Treat. Check out our van converted to a pirate’s cave loaded with treasure to plunder. So, head on downtown to get your free treat and have a bit of fun with the Junior Docents and some staff and maybe some pirates too! Watch your manners or you might have to walk the plank!
