History for Lunch: Shipwrecks of the Outer Banks: Dramatic Rescues and Fantastic Wrecks in the Graveyard of the Atlantic

Museum of the Albemarle will host our monthly History for Lunch on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 12 p.m. James D. Charlet, former site manager of Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station Historic Site and museum, will present, Shipwrecks of the Outer Banks:  Dramatic Rescues and Fantastic Wrecks in the Graveyard of the Atlantic from the Gaither Auditorium of the Museum of the Albemarle.

Discover the basics of the United States Life-Saving Service, including the basic drills and duties.  An overview of each themed section in the book will be shared along with a brief account of the heart of each chapter.

This will be a hybrid History for Lunch with limited in person seating and virtually through Zoom. To attend in person visitors must RSVP due to limited available seats in the auditorium by calling Lori Meads at 252-331-4054. Once all the spots are full no more will be available.
