Adam Hughes, Bertie County native, third-generation butcher, sausage maker, certified barbecue judge, world champion pitmaster, and a champion of Food Network's Chopped, will share stories of growing up and learning skills from family members and community that developed his love of live fire cooking.

The skills learned resulted in world and state championships for chicken, ribs, pork, brisket, sides, and desserts. Today, Old Colony Smokehouse results from the skills and knowledge acquired through years of barbecue study and trial and error, combined with old-school values and work ethic.

History for Lunch is offered in-person and virtually.
