Race What You Bring: Racing in Northeastern North Carolina
Racing in northeastern North Carolina is thriving. It is embedded in our lives, whether we participate or are amongst those in the grandstands, racing can occur through any medium. Spectators vie for something more, something different. Something that allows them to sense that they are a part of a community: a community where competitors race what they bring.
From horse, dog, and turtle racing to cars, trucks, bikes, boats, and record-breaking running, this multidisciplinary exhibition features racing at its finest—fast, dirty, exhilarating, and loud! Competitors in northeastern North Carolina race with what they bring, whether it be passion, commitment, a desire to redefine their own personal limits, or the pursuit of the finish line.
The exhibition, which is free and open to the public, will feature artifacts and images that relate to flat track and motocross racing, marathons, swimming, power boat and sailboat racing, rowing and sculling, late model and modified car racing, barrel racing, harness racing, dog racing, Cub Mobile racing, radio control racing, kart racing, frog jumping, pit moto bike racing, and underwater bicycle racing.
