Annual Holiday Open House on Saturday December 2

Annual Holiday Open House

-

Come and celebrate Christmas with the museum! Visitors can step back in time through the exhibit of the 1970s living room and child's bedroom decorated for the holidays. Bring a friend or find a guest to reminisce and discuss the times, and take a minute to watch clips of favorite television shows and commercials of the era, all while sitting on 1970s furniture.

Members of the Colonial Quilt Lovers Guild of Northeast North Carolina have worked together to make a traditional Christmas quilt, Vintage Christmas, designed by Lori Holt, My Bonnet Company. The quilt will remain on display while the 1970s room is open.

There will be 1970s hands-on activities and games to get you in the groove and the Albemarle Express HO scale train as it travels around the Albemarle region. The lobby tree will be retro with 1970s-themed disco balls that will make for a great photo opportunity, so pull out the bell bottoms and platforms!

The Gypsy Shack will be available from 1 - 3 p.m. for festive holiday face painting, and Santa will make his grand entrance from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. to ensure the Christmas lists are checked!
