Visit the Museum of the Albemarle for our annual Holiday Open House: A Colonial Christmas on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Visitors can step back in time and experience a colonial Christmas through seasonal hands-on activities and games. Discover the colonial and revolutionary history of northeastern North Carolina as you watch the Albemarle Express model train stop at each of the 13 counties represented at the museum. Receive a keepsake bell to highlight your visit to the Albemarle Express! The museum will also be decorated with Christmas trees from each of the 13 counties.
Explore a petting zoo full of farm animals on the museum green from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Festive holiday face painting will be available from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m., while Santa Claus will make his grand entrance to check your Christmas lists from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. Make sure you have your camera ready for this special photo opportunity. Before you leave, be sure to sample delicious seasonal treats.
