The 1898 Wilmington Massacre is one of the most infamous events in North Carolina history. Many are unaware, though, that other cities in the eastern half of the Tar Heel State faced similar tensions, including Elizabeth City. Glen Bowman, PhD, of Elizabeth City State University, will explore historical documents to address whether something like the Wilmington Massacre could have happened in Elizabeth City.

History for Lunch is available in person and virtually through Zoom.
